How to add variants to your products to sell.

You can add as many variants as you like for a product. however, to create a simple and organised booking journey for customers we recommend to try and keep your options for customers to as few a possible.

Variants options can include a ticket type, room option or time slot.

Adding Variants for Experiences

Steps

  1. Go to your product and select 'Create Variant' in your product

  2. Name your variant e.g. Early Bird Ticket

  3. Set the price per person of your variant

  4. Create a short tagline for your variant that gives customers a description to help book or create urgency e.g. Only available until 31 January

  5. Add an image that describes your variant - this will appear in your cart shop (booking page).

  6. Set the inventory (stock level) available for each variant.

  7. Hit 'Save'

NB: Your Variant name is what will appear in your sales report so be sure to keep this as simple as possible in order to keep this clear on your reporting and to help when you need to operate the event. Any additional explainer/marketing text is best put in the tagline.

How to create a Segment

Steps

  1. Go to the 'Create Segment' option that appears below your variant options

  2. Select 'Create Segment' and type the name of the segment e.g. VIP options

  3. Either drag and drop in existing variants by hovering over the left hand side of the variant box (three dots) or create new variants within your segment

NB: If you do not create a segment for your variants a default 'variant' title will apply - so it is advised to create a segment these for any variant even if you only have one option.

Adding Variants for Experiences with Accommodation or Accommodation Only

Private Rooms

Steps:

  1. Go to your product and select 'Create Variant' in your product

  2. Name your variant e.g. Single Room or Junior Suite

  3. Set the occupancy of your variant - the max number of people that are able to book the variant option.

  4. Create a short tagline for your variant that gives customers a description to help book or create urgency e.g. The Junior Suite has sea views, an en-suite bathroom and shower.

  5. Set the per person price of your variant based on the maximum number of people booking

  6. If you would like to charge a different price based on the number of people booking the variant option then you can create a Price Tier options for this.

  7. Hit 'Save'

Price Tiers for Private Room options

Steps:

  1. Go to the variant option in the Private Room section of your product

  2. Click the 'Setting's cog icon

  3. Create your price tier option by selecting 'Add price tier' e.g. if your max occupancy of the variant is 10 and you would like to create a price tier for 9,8,7,6 people and so on you would need to create one price tier option for 9 people and set it e.g. if the max occupancy of the variant is 10 people and the price for 10 people booking is $10,000 (and the price is based on $1000 per person) then your first price tier would be 9 people at $9000.00 then a second price tier 8 people at $8,000, a third price tier 7 people at $7000.00 and so on.

  4. Hit 'Save'

Shared Rooms:

Steps:

  1. Go to your product and select 'Create Variant' in your product

  2. Name your variant e.g. Single Bed in a Triple Room

  3. Set the initial stock of your variant - this is the max number of people that are able to book the variant option E.g. if you have one Triple Room available (one room with 3 places) select 3 as your initial stock

  4. Create a short tagline for your variant that gives customers a description to help book or create urgency e.g. Book a single bed in a shared triple room with shared bathroom.

  5. Set the price per person of your variant. Remeber this is the price of the individual bed, not the room.

  6. Hit 'Save'
